We have returned from Texas and I think I can say we all had a good time. We flew out of O'Hare in sub zero weather. We had a connecting flight in Dallas and arrivcd in McAllen to 80 degree sunshine!!
We did lots of fun things. We rode on the only hand drawn ferry across the Rio Grande River.
The ferry would hold three cars at a time and these five men would pull it across. Fifty cents to go from US to Mexico. Fifty five cents to go from Mexico to the US. Go figure.
We had the biggest cheeseburger for lunch! We shared but did manage to finish it all plus a big order of onion rings!
We went on a Dolphin Watch boat trip on South Padre Island. And we actually saw some dolphins!
Ashley and Alex spent some time "swimming" in the Gulf of Mexico. My camera is still in good working order because I did not expose it to the sand and salt there, so no pictures.
We shopped on South Padre Island in some unique stores.
We went on a shopping trip to Progresso, Mexico. The kids decided they do not want to live there! And they spent as much of their extra time as possible in this pool-
We sure thank Big Grandpa and Big Grandma for all their hospitality and hope we did not wear them out - too much! Thank you! Thank you!!
