Here I sit. Four weeks since the last post and feeling VERY guilty. I want to see more posts from at least the last two of my children. How can I expect that if I don't put up some of my own.
Logan has been a source of amazement and entertainment. She loves to draw, more than coloring even. She asks for chocolate milk, when Cora is here, but doesn't particularly care for it. Grandma gives her plain milk and she calls it Chocolate and drinks it all. She often wants Daddy or Grandpa to put her ponytail in but really needs Grandma to do it.
She loves her jacket. I love her smile.
Logan is so cute in her hat and mittens. I had to take her picture.
Oh! Grandpa has a camera.
Let me pose and give you cheese smile. Not her best look but cute. I just want to hug her.
Cora came with her mom and Hazel. Notice that Julieanna set Hazel down and Cora swoops in to attend her complaint. Then announce that Hazel is "so cute" and "making sad noise".
Cora then invites Grandpa to come see Hazel.
I must obey.
Julieanna cut Cora's hair and it looks very cute. Have you ever noticed how often we say "cute"?
Finally there is time for Cora to get out a toy to play with. Buz Lightyear is getting some serious critiquing.
This was the first attempt. Logan gave Cora the stiff-arm and said, "No, I not do that." With that said she ran off.
As Logan ran down the hall and came in the other way to the living room, Cora tried again and was so happy to be accepted. Hugs are great.
Valentine's Day weekend in Grand Haven.
We were going for a walk in the county park. Roger didn't think we could. But we tried and found the nature center closed. Since the only paths are Nordic ski trails we thought better and didn't walk at this county park.
We have gone to the beach here in the past. It was warmer then. Judy and Roger, Kathy and Paul, Phyllis and Dick, Brenda and Bob and Sally and I walk the path through the dunes to the beach. Since it was snow covered Brenda and Bob returned to the car.

Here we are at the top of the beach. It falls off very sharply to the waters edge about twenty feet below. I put the camera on fence post and took our picture. Since I slipped on the way back everyone has a beautiful smile.
From here the others went on a walk through the dunes. But since it is slick and snow covered (and we're a couple wimps) Sally and I went back to the car to wait with Brenda and Bob.
I really like Grand Haven and Holland. They are two marvellous communities with lots of events year around and nice business districts. This week Grand Haven has an ice sculpting contest.
The Grand Haven Museum has a display of housing from a wigwam, through a log shelter, a hewn log cabin and a house. The "house" has a few room set with antiques. Click on Museum above and take a tour.
I always stop to look at pictures of street scenes. They remind me of the historical views of cities in their youth. And yet I rarely take such photos because they are generally uninteresting until the scene is lost to us through "progress".
Went for a walk on Sunday morning and thought I should take a picture of Judy and Roger's home. It is a great development. The woods were preserved as they cleared out spaces for houses and streets.
Wauconda, Home Sweet Home!
Here, the twenty-second day of February, we have another snow. Only about four inches here. They had predicted 10+ inches. Had it been cold, I mean really cold, we would have a foot out there. Alas, it started at 33 degrees and melted into a slushy. Shoveling was a good way to measure the weight. It was very, very heavy. It stuck to every surface it touched.
The scene reminds me of Dr. Zhivago's Russian winter.
