A Man's Castle ...

Well, time was running out at a rapid rate, but the Baby Shower was finally planned, announced and held. Tricia, Julieanna, Sally, Ashley and I guess Cora hosted the even at what I delusionally call 'My House'.

I have been aware for many years that I don't actually have anything of my very own. So there I was in an humble suburban home as it began to fill with estrogen. It was becoming over powering. I snapped a few photos for the shower and took Kyle, the father to be, to a manly place. We went to Cabela's, outfitter to America, to the world. It isn't exclusively male but it has a lot of man-things.

That aside, here are some shower pictures.

A lot of gifts for Logan Elizabeth Lambert

So with mom gone to watch dolphins, shop in Mexico and hang out with our great kids - you know we have been bored but have managed to do some things, what have you done? I'm guessing some guys would think their castle rocks when they can do what they want, when they want and how they want. Maybe that is just talk made up to sound cool.

I worked on my snowthrower (to no avail). I chipped and shoveled a ton or two of ice. Kept the house picked up and the dishes done. I made a casserole and several other meals. When a recipe calls for 'one can of...' you can't cut it any further. So I will be having casserole all week. That's okay because I like it, that's why I made it.
But as Blue Eyes sang, I did it my way and that was nice. The bed didn't need to be rebuilt every morning; I could throw the covers back and get up and pul them back over and make the bed. Just like magic.
Not once did I awaken with my butt hangin out in the cold. Not once did I awaken to play tug o'war. And when I lay very still, I couldn't hear the snoring.
